Every Single Women’s World Cup Soccer Match on TV LIVE for the First Time

Every Single Women’s World Cup Soccer Match is being aired LIVE on TV (on ESPN3) with a braodcast team t the event for the very first time. Gather your soccer-loving daughters around the television and watch. My sweet one can’t get enough. I think it has something to do with seeing the ‘bigger girls’ (instead of just the boys) playing the game she loves. I adore that she gets to see the games in action just the way my son experiences the baseball and football he loves.
Since this is the first time they have covered every match, and I would truly love to see it happen again, I have some thoughts.

January commented on Jul 08 11 at 5:12 pmI couldn’t find anything to back this up, but I remember watching the 1999 Women’s World Cup live, from what I could find looking things up, it seems more like they are using a lot more cameras to get a lot of different angles.

The Women’s world cup has been a huge event in our family, but most especially for our 9 year old girl who plays year round and loves the game. In fact, she has been so taken by the games, the US team, and the players that we splurged on the official home jersey for her. It’s inspirational and aspirational. And the commentary has been great.
daniellesmith commented on Jul 09 11 at 12:24 pmJanuary – you are correct – the U.S. Women’s World Cup games have been aired live before but this is the first time ESPN has aired EVERY SINGLE Women’s World Cup match and actually had broadcasters at the games – typically they broadcast from CT.
Lisa – thank you for that – I love that your daughter is having so much fun watching the matches – My daughter is just the same – though now I’m thinking I should find her a jersey too :)
