Kurt and Blaine finally share a kiss on Glee!

Kurt and Blaine finally kissed on Glee! I’m a huge Gleek, and Kurt is a big part of why. I’ve been waiting for Kurt to find true love and get some hot kisses since last year.

Not just because I love his character a little too much and want him to be over the moon happy with the guy of his dreams. Also because, as Famecrawler points out, its a huge show of support for gay teens to let a prominent gay character have a normal, healthy, awesome dating relationship.

We don’t have TV, so I usually watch Glee the next evening with my kids on Hulu. All day I’ve been devouring little clips of the big kiss from the Internets like a kid with a sweet tooth who’s found the secret stash of chocolate.

Even better than watching it alone, though, I can’t wait to watch this episode with my kids.

They won’t get it of course. They’re too young to think a stage kiss between any too people is anything other than gross. They won’t see why this one is unusual, or any different from Fionn and Quinn snogging. They’re interested in the songs, not the high school soap opera.

But they’ll get to see Kurt being treated like a regular kid, getting his kisses on just like any other character on the show. Hopefully they’ll keep right on growing up in a world where gay teens are normal, and it will never seem remarkable to them.

It’s remarkable to me, though, and I’m glad I get to share it with them. Even if they don’t get what the big deal is and hopefully never will.

My soon to be 4 year old loves to watch Glee with me. Last week’s episode was over the top, but she lost interest because daddy was doing something better. She loves the songs. I, too, am glad that she can see a kiss between two guys and see it as normal!

EWWWW! That’s totaly innapropriate! I would NEVER let my kids watch cr@p like this! My family happens to be Christian and that means that this kiss is WRONG!!!!!!!!!!
