5 Family Fun Crafts for Fat Tuesday 2011! Mardi Gras for Kids
When most think of Madri Gras and Fat Tuesday they think about the partying, the drinking and the debauchery. But Madri Gras doesn’t have to be just an excuse for the adult set to get wild. Madri Gras and Fat Tuesday can be fun for the whole family.
Here are five activities and crafts for those littlest of Madri Gras celebrators.
1) Mardi Gras Coloring Sheets:
You can have the kids get their color on with one of these Coloring sheets:
Mardi Gras Jester
Mardi Gras Sign
Mardi Gras Beads
2) Make a Mardi Gras Mask
Print out this mask, have the kids color it and cut it out. Makes a great mask to celebrate the day. You can get it right here.
3) Make a Mardi Gras Crown
Another handy print out, after the kids color it, cut it out and put a band around the bottom and it makes a perfect crown, fit for any Fat Tuesday king or queen. You can get it right here.
Or you can make one from scratch using these instructions right here.
4) Make some Madri Gras shakers.
Using the basic instructions for the shakers that are made in preschools far and wide, you can use the bean filled toilet roll for a Mardi Gras noisemaker by decorating it in purple, green and gold. Check out the directions here.
5) Make Your own Madri Gras necklace
This is a fabulous craft for the older kids and it’s also a green craft since you’re using recycling materials. You can find the directions to make beads out of the pages from discarded magazines right here.
