A female gym and health teacher in Mason, OH, was indicted on Friday by a grand jury on 16 counts of sexual battery, which is a third-degree felony. She also faces three misdemeanor counts of offenses involving an underage person.

Stacy Schuler, 32, is accused of having sexual contact with students on five different occasions from last August through December. The alleged sex acts were mostly with football players from Mason High School, where she taught, and were said to have occurred off school grounds, according to prosecutors. The indictment says that Schuler also bought alcohol for the teens. She has worked at the high school since 2000.

Schuler is being held in jail on a $50,000 bond. She was placed on a paid administrative leave on Jan. 18th, which is about a week after school administration officials received an anonymous tip about her sexual contact with students. The status of her job and whether Schuler will be suspended without pay or terminated outright will be decided on Tuesday, at which time the school board will hold its next public meeting.

While everyone is innocent until proven guilty, it’s hard to imagine how the school board could possibly justify continuing the employment of a woman who potentially abused her position to the extent that Schuler is accused. As a parent, I am sickened by the idea that children sent to school — no matter if they are older and in high school — could get involved sexually with a teacher, and that she could be responsible for buying them alcohol.

If the accusations prove to be true, this woman should rot in her jail cell, as far as I’m concerned. A teacher exploiting her students is a tremendous violation on so many levels of trust, and unforgivable.

Because people have been known to lie before. Even kids. Even about something as serious as this.

The correct action here is to suspend her without pay pending trial.

It is entirely possible (not likely) that she will be acquitted entirely and if that were true, she should be able to return to work if she chooses.

@Lisa — You’re right — I didn’t mean to suggest they should fire her beforehand the conclusion of her legal case.

This is anti egalitarian plurale tantum when woman lands anywhere left when she felt her tongue is no longer getting confidence of getting purism of social jittery poses herself to become offender rather than defending herself & self belongings to have forth findings special, in such way she herself become self victim of her own portray to have no legitimate affairs when most of battery charge is lost by various man without age having to bring social outrage nor have their complete social status or privilege. Now it is all depends on Social Tax burden Not only in USA but also risk posed by developing world.

“While everyone is innocent until proven guilty”

This what’s wrong with our education today.
Everyone is NOT innocent until proven guilty. They are either innocent or guilty.

Under our laws they are PRESUMED to be innocent until proven guilty.

If you commit a crime, but it can not be proven that you did it, that does not make you innocent of the crime. You are acquitted of the crime.

BIG difference. Try to learn and get it right next time.

I agree that charges are sickening, but there are probably protocols in place for any situation where a teacher is investigated, and they are there so all teachers are treated fairly.

Secondly, she sounds like she needs mental help along with jail time. I feel sorry for her, and the boys involved. (though I’d like to ask them if it ever crossed their minds that this was a bad idea)

I am a student at mason high school and the students that were involved in this event, were defiantly not “forced” into any sexual actions. They were high school jocks looking for a good time. Stacy Schuler was a great teacher, im tired of the media twisting everything around.
