Ancestry.com Search: Who Do You Think You Are Inspires Own Family Tree
The NBC show Who Do You Think You Are has ignited a new passion, a passion for the past.
On Who Do You Think You Are, celebrities are given a trip through their family’s history and their heredity. There are surprises, revelations and in each tale a deep appreciation for the past. A journey that elicits enthusiasm, not just from the celebrity being explored – like Vanessa Williams to Gwyneth Paltrow – but a journey that is inspiring others to explore their own family history.
Ancestory.com? They are going to be busy each Friday while the show is airs. We all study our country or our state’s history but not that many of us have a good grasp on own our personal histories. As parents, one of our jobs is to give our growing children an appreciation of their roots, their heritage and their ancestors. In our modern fast-paced culture many of us don’t take the time to look back. Some may not want to, but for those of you want to find “who you think you are,” places like Ancestry.com can be a launching point for this exploration of our origins.
