Mona Yvette Nelson Charged With Murdering Jonathan Foster
ABC news reported that Mona Yvette Nelson was charged with the murder of 12 year old Jonathan Foster who disappeared on Christmas Eve. A badly burned body that was believed to be his was found early Tuesday. On Wednesday, 44 year old Nelson, who is a Foster family acquaintance, was named a person of interest.
Later in the day, the Harris County, Texas, District Attorney’s Office told local ABC affiliate KTRK that the person of interest had been officially charged with murder.
Carolyn Castiglia first posted about Jonathan Foster on Strollerderby earlier this week. Foster’s step dad, David Davis, told police, “I think a pedophile took him. That’s what I think and I want him back. I want revenge.”
Now at least Mr. Foster has the name of the accused. ABC News says that according to the Houston Chronicle, Nelson’s truck had been captured by a surveillance camera belonging to an office close to where the young boy’s body was found.
A strange phone exchange between the 12 year old and his mom, Angela Davis, had local authorities worried. After missing a call from her son while at work, Angela Davis called him back only to hear a woman’s voice she didn’t recognize answer the phone.
Foster’s grandmother, Mary Gifford, had this to say of the exchange: “My daughter asked to speak with her son, and then the woman asked [Jonathan] if Angela was his mother. He said ‘Yes, m’am. Angela is my mother,’ and then the phone went dead.
Though neither Gifford nor Angela Davis knew who the mystery woman was, it may have been Nelson.
Thanks to the ordeal, Gifford has become critical of Amber Alert policies. On Monday afternoon, an Amber Alert was issued for Jonathan Foster, but Gifford believes that was far too late. “Regardless of how this turns out, my goal is to get the Amber Alert law changed,” she said. “There should not be criteria for an Amber Alert that depends on whether cops think the kid has run away.” While the family was confident that Jonathan had not run away, Gifford contends that the police believed that was a distinct possibility. ”The cops kept thinking [Jonathan] ran away,” she said.
It’s now clear that Jonathan did not run away and that the police believe Nelson was responsible for his tragic death.

Mona Yvette Nelson Charged With Murdering Jonathan Foster | Family Health Corner commented on Jan 02 11 at 4:11 amteresa commented on Dec 31 10 at 2:24 amI have known Mona for about 20 years she is no murderer! The media has already convicted her yes she is rough and tough but not a cold blooded killer. Serial killer not hardly!!! I dont believe one minute that she ever killed a child they need to contact her friends around cookville and Mt. Pleasant where many people know Mona very well. Mona would not kill a child I will never believe this. Her trade is a welder always and a dang good welder too. But she would not use her trade to kill a innocent boy I will never believe that. Yes she probably was very drunk but would not do what they say. The media has already crusified her before the truth has even come out. They just just want someone to pin the murder on but I and many others who know Mona do not believe she did it and never will.
Sandra Pinegar commented on Jan 03 11 at 4:35 amYeah right Teresa, all evidence including the welding tourches and surveillance camara points to Nelson the sick child killer! I can´t stand people like you who are so quick to protect a baby killer! I hope she gets the death sentence for murdering this innocent little boy!
