Halloween Songs: What’s On Your Playlist?
Halloween music is, thankfully, less ubiquitous than Christmas music. But there are still great Halloween songs like: the Monster Mash, This Is Halloween, Every Day is Halloween.
Whether you’re getting ready to host a Halloween tea party for ten little girls (how did my family talk me into this one?), trying to keep your kids entertained all weekend, or heading out for a little grown-up fun, you’ll want the perfect Halloween playlist.
There are plenty of sites where you can listen to Halloween music free of charge. But what tunes should you choose when putting together your own playlist?
- The Monster Mash – This might be The Halloween Anthem!
- This is Halloween – Aw! The theme from the Nightmare Before Christmas gets me every time, right down in my creepy little heart.
- The Time Warp – Like the Hokey Pokey for grown-ups. It’s on everyone’s mind this week thanks to the Rocky Horror Glee show. Let’s do the Time Warp again!
- The Great Pumpkin Waltz – A nice, soothing break from all the high-energy stomping, and a classic on it’s own.
- Ghostbusters – Who you gonna call? This song still makes me want to break out my roller skates. That’s a spooky thought.
- Thriller – The musical zombie apocalypse at its finest. Need we say more.
- Love Potion #9 – You and the kids will want to boogie to this spooky song about a love song gone wrong.
- Witchy Woman – Another song about dangerously alluring witches, with another irresistable tune. Can’t say no.
- Werewolves of London – Play this one at 3 a.m. Halloween night when your kids, still tanked up on candy, are outside howling at the moon.
- Every Day Is Halloween – Ok, this is totally not a kid song. But how could I let this list go without including one of my favorite Goth club numbers of all time?
What are your favorite Halloween songs?
