5 Best (and 5 Worst) Cities for Working Moms
Forbes magazine has released its list of the 50 best cities in the U.S. for women with careers who are also raising children. The magazine took the 50 biggest cities in the U.S. and then ranked them based on criteria important to mothers. Using crime statistics, employment numbers, earning potential and school quality — among other factors — they crunched through the numbers to get their final results.
The best city?
Minneapolis-St. Paul!
Rounding out the Top 5 are Washington, D.C., Boston, Pittsburgh and Baltimore-Towson, Md.
The very bottom of the list looks like this:
45 & 46. tie between Oklahoma City and Orlando, Fla.
47. Birmingham, Ala.
48. Charlotte, N.C.
49. Memphis
50. Las Vegas
Go here for the full list. And here for Forbes’ explanation of what they considered to be important and how they weighted each category.
Did your city make the list? What do you think? Minneapolis-St. Paul? Are you finally getting the respect you’ve so quietly waited for?
