Denim Diapers: Dress Your Baby in Style

diaper jeans sm250 Denim Diapers: Dress Your Baby in StyleWarm weather is just around the corner and that can only mean one thing:  Summer clothes!  For a baby, keeping cool in the summer often involves wearing just a diaper.  But that doesn’t mean your baby has to go around sporting a plain white butt.  No, you can keep baby cool and stylish with Huggies new Little Movers Jeans Diapers!

These faux denim baby pants have been available in other countries since 2007, but have just now come on the market here.  Designed to help baby “stay trendy while keeping dry,” they come in sizes 3 to 5 and, other than the awesome denim print, are exactly like regular Huggies Little Movers.

I think they are adorable but not everyone does. Heather Havrilesky at Salon is appalled.  I suspect her outrage over the inappropriateness of denim diapers is overstated for comedic effect, but her suggestion that they be paired with an Achy Breaky Heart T-shirt and pack of Malboro Reds is pretty funny.

If I had a baby, she’d would definitely be sporting faux denim diapers this summer.   What about you?  Do you think Huggies is on to something?  Can leopard print and plaid be far behind?

Cloth, Disposable or... Designer? | Being Pregnant commented on Aug 02 10 at 9:32 am

so…cute…must…have…

It’s a huge improvement over elmo and princesses. That said, I’ll stick to my collection of gDiapers in cute colors.

I can’t stand it when parents take their babies out in just a diaper. Therefore, I think these are stupid.

Em commented on May 20 10 at 10:50 am

I agree with Em…and would add, that if you want cute diapers, you should really go cloth. Those are some CUTE ASS DIAPERS. I don’t like these denim huggies, myself…

It is a huge improvement over cartoon characters though. Then again, I don’t buy diapers based on the characters, either. And there are some definite cute cloth options available that we use as well.
In 90 degree humid heat and if I’m in my own yard? I could care less what anyone thinks, its diaper only. Actually, no, more likely it’ll be swimdipe in the blowup pool only. :-)

at home, it’s NAKED…for some reason my kid always strips down

GtothemfckinP commented on May 20 10 at 11:44 am

Cloth is way ahead of the game, and in the summer, my kids end up in shorts only, or nothing. I think disposables are way overrated and bad to boot, besides, although I DO think the diaper is cute in the picture, I’m sure it wouldn’t be so much in real life. As in, you’d be able to look at it and see that it is printed paper.

No Thanks!

Ah, not yet at that stage…where nekkid != near insta-pee. I’m sure we’ll get there though.

PlumbLucky commented on May 20 10 at 12:12 pm

That was one of my favorite things about the cloth diapers, they were cute when the kids were in just a diaper.

Heather commented on May 20 10 at 12:38 pm

Oh, the Happy Heiny cow print pocket diaper–now that is cute. But really, no matter how cute, when the kid is out he is wearing something over the diaper, so does it even matter?

Snarky Mama commented on May 20 10 at 12:50 pm

I think it’s super cute, but I’d like it better as a cloth diaper. Maybe a cover or an AIO.

Marj commented on May 21 10 at 2:40 pm

Uh, no! My girls would not be caught in these. Its still a chemical ridden diaper. But now it has blue dye all over it. I cloth diaper and well my girls have tons of cute prints. Cloth diapering is way ahead of the game when it comes to cute diapers. But I can see this taking off with all the sposie companies and they will soon have tons of prints to sell.
