Mad Men Barbies
While Barbie has been making strides to break the glass ceiling of corporate America (hey, Barbie’s a computer engineer!), a new line of Mad Men Barbies promises to set Barbie back to the subservient “don’t speak unless unless spoken to” gender roles of the 1960′s.
It’s great to not only see Barbie representing a troubling time in women’s rights but to see Mattel feature the world’s first adulterous Barbies.
But man, that 60′s fashion looks good, don’t it?
Maybe this isn’t a big step forward for Barbie, but man, Ken finally grew a pair, didn’t he?
Oh, and these dolls will retail at $74.95. EACH.

I think women have always had a bit more power than they admitted to so as to continue the tight grip on the reins. I’m sure most of us have had at least one relationship where we had to allude to weakness/semi-subservience to avoid the insane jealous grilling about the previous boyfriends sexual prowess.
