Our Little Genius: Kid’s Quiz Show Caught Cheating
Have you ever seen the movie Quiz Show? Great movie, excellent movie. If you haven’t seen it, it goes like this: back in the 50′s quiz shows programs were crazy popular. You know, because there was only one channel then and no American Idol. Also, people back then believed the things they saw on TV were real.
Anywho, turns out the most popular show, Twenty One, was feeding their contestants the answers so they could control who won and therefore pick the players with the most audience appeal. People found out and IT ROCKED THE NATION. I know, hard to imagine that kind of outrage now over a TV show. ”What do you mean the latest Bachelor and his chosen mate are broken up? They said they were in love!”
Well they say, “Those who cannot learn from history are something, something, I’m bored.” As a result we get Quiz Show 2010: Kiddy Version.
The program Our Little Genius is in hot water after allegedly giving their child contestants the answers in advance. Now I’ve never watched the show, but I can tell you the answer-giving is unnecessary because I’d be far more willing to watch a show about kids biting it on television because that’s life. I’m not saying children need to have the cruelties of failure thirst upon them at such a young age, but apparently their parents are willing to put them up to it. Frankly, I find the whole “child genius” thing creepy at best and bad parenting at worst. Your kid is smart. Yay! Everybody wants smart kids. But these parents drill their kids for 10 hours a day on the International Code of Phylogenetic Nomenclature. Also, there is the whole, “little adult” way parents treat their self-appointed geniuses that is just a little too Toddlers and Tiaras for me.
But you may disagree. The kids are really happy to be out in this position, right? Doesn’t that kid in the picture above look super stoked?

Kid Game Show Cheating | Famecrawler commented on Feb 25 10 at 2:21 pmAlexis commented on Jun 11 11 at 9:28 pmThis article is a little confusing. Perhaps a once-over would fix the bumps? Is the show mentioned in the beginning of the article real, or was it part of the movie? I don’t even know what to ask because, in reality, I’m not sure what I missed! I just know that this article jumps all over the place.
