During that time it was normal for there to be an age gap, so the marriage was not an usual thing. [It's mighty unfair to impose one's prejudices upon another culture.] Also, Mohammad was not with her while she was a child. She had already matured and was an adult. [At that time, people became adults sooner.] BTW, she was NOT 7 AND he was NOT 60...wow you sure got a lot of things wrong! Another thing, Islam does not allow forced marriages. Unfortunately, her pediatrician was unaware of the signs and mistakenly attributed them to the steroids. At the age of 2 she was officially diagnosed with precocious puberty. We were told if she was not treated she would begin menstruating by the age of 5. I believe environmental factors and the food supply are causing a lot of girls to enter puberty early. However, as with my daughter, many may have a medical condition that can be treated. If only doctors and parents were aware of the signs.
