Lynn Geter hamster 377113l Mother Forces Son to Kill Hamster for Bad GradesFile this under, “the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.” Strike that; file this under, “You clearly should not be a parent unless your job is to raise a serial killer.”

38-year-old mom Lynn Middlebrooks Geter was arrested after she forced her 12-year-old son to kill his pet hamster with a hammer as a punishment for earning a bad grade.

After the boy told his teacher, the teacher reported the incident to authorities and now the mother sits behind bars for animal cruelty, child cruelty and battery.

I’m going to assume none of you have ever resorted to Draconian measures like this mom, but have you ever regretted a punishment you gave your kid?

Ugh…agreed. Man, this makes me feel a little nauseated just thinking about that poor kid…

What did the poor Hamster do to deserve that?

Comments there are alot of so-called parents out there that do not deserve to have children. they should be punished to the fullest. and the children put in homes that want them….. even the octo mom…thats a real sin!!!!

I have a neighbor who flushed her daughter’s goldfish when she wouldn’t get up for church. I thought that was bad but compared to this mom she’s a saint. Just for the record anyone who thinks killing or inflicting pain on pets are EVER an appropriate punishment makes me wish I did believe in Hell.

I accidently dropped my son’s fish down the drain when I was cleaning the tank and I felt awful! My son was pretty upset that his pet was gone and it was only a fish. That poor kid… so sad what some parents do

That really makes no sense… I could see something like “We’ll have to give your hamster away since your grades are so bad (find a friend who wants it or something), and if you make better grades you can get another pet later.” But flat out killing the animal? Just cruel.

Omg! I am sick to my stomach reading this! I hope Karma comes around to her! This is soooo wrong. What the h is wrong with people?? She couldn’t just have him give the hamster up? And here I cried for my hamster for days on end (still a week later) after he passed away, don’t know what happened to him but I was in tears. This makes me sick and makes me tear up!!!
