Rainy Day Awesomeness You’ll Love More Than Your Kids
I have to admit I’m not a house parent. If we can get out of the door for five minutes, I’ll do it, preferring to go wreck the park instead of the living room. (Honestly, do you have any idea how many times I can do the dishes in one day? A lot, that’s how many. It drives me mad.)
So when this whopper of a rain storm smacked the West Coast on a long three-day weekend, I knew immediately we were doomed. But then I remembered my friend Charlene went on a TV show to tout rainy day activities and after trying one of them, I was hooked.
On the cheap.
It is so worth it.
All you have to do is find some easy-to-dance-in shoes and then tape quarters to the bottom of them. My daughter went into a dance rage that didn’t stop for a solid 20 minutes and only then because she couldn’t lift her legs any more.
She insisted I try it, too, and I found that I couldn’t stop either. We spent the entire day tap dancing around the house and then we both collapsed by the time my wife returned from work. I felt like some half crazed leprechaun with those cursed dancing shoes. If you try this, you won’t be able to stop. I swear I had more fun than the kid, and I can’t wait to get home to dance some more.
