Valentine Reads for Kids: Part 1
The season of love is upon us – we’re less than one month away from Valentine’s Day. We couldn’t think of a better time than now to instill a love of reading in our kids.
So to give you a head start, we’ve been reading up a storm with our mini book lover. Consider this our Valentine’s gift to you:
How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You by Jane Yolen: Part of the popular dinosaurs series, this was added to the collection late last year by Blue Sky Press. Besides the fun that any book featuring giant dinos can offer, it’s loaded with the one message parents always want to impart: no matter how naughty you are, Mommy and Daddy will always love you.
Everyone Says I Love You by Beegee Tolpa. A pop up book that talks in the language of love, find out how to say “I Love You” in Italian, Japanese and more with 3D imagery. Your new bedtime routine may just end with “Je t’aime.”
I Love You Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt. Laughter is the best ingredient for any love story, and this tale of unconditional love will give your kids a fit of the giggles. It’s true – we’d even love our kids if they were big, scary apes. Sometimes they are.
Kiss Kiss by Selma Mandine. An enchanting book for baby with cute-as-a-button illustrations, this simple tale lets kids know what love feels like from the rest of the family. Great for kids who are fearful of other family members moving in for a peck, it’s also a fun intro to a kiss-fest!
