Just when you thought the spanking vs. no-spanking debate couldn’t become any more heated, one of Babble’s favorite set of parenting experts has entered the fold to put us back at square one.
As far as years go 2009, by popular opinion, wasn’t the greatest. There was a lot of celebrity and parenting news, however, and here are a few posts from the last twelve months that left an impression:

Sometimes the best way to relate to your kids is simply to get gross – and if it takes a bedtime story to do it, hey, at least they’re learning.
Since the 1940′s, the color pink has been associated with girls and femininity. I’m not big on gender stereotypes, but I’ll admit that it can be handy to have a standard way of telling boy babies from girl babies without undoing their diaper. But once you get past the they-all-look-like-lizards stage, it’s not so important. Especially, I think, girls don’t need to have a pink version of something just to be able to play with it. Apparently, Toys R Us disagrees.
