Sold this fall, the boots were all manufactured in Thailand, and the logo stamped onto the children’s boot’s insoles contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the New Hampshire company will be issuing replacement insoles for its Classic Scuffproof Boots, sized from toddler 4 up to junior 7.

The boots involved sport Model Numbers 34772, 34872, or 34972 and Manufacturer/Date CodesĀ  6456, 6556, 6656, 6756, and 6856. The twenty-one thousand boots involved sold for between $50 and $70.

This is a separate recall from that of steel-toed adult boots sold by Timberland which caused foot injuries. To get a replacement insole, call Timberland at 800-445-5545 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
