Daycare Spikes Candy to Calm Kids
Some of us would like to do just about anything to make the kid take a nap already and leave us alone. But daycare workers in Ohio might have actually DONE it.
The Covenant Apostolic Church daycare is under investigation for spiking kids candy with a synthetic hormone to help the kids conk out at naptime.
CBS reports kids as young as two months may have been dosed with melatonin to calm them down. Melatonin is naturally produced in the body and helps control sleep and waking cycles. It’s also available over the counter but most medical resources discourage its use in children without the oversight of a physician.
In other words – it’s not candy. Even if it tasted like that to the kids at the daycare.
People allegedly involved in the scheme have already lost their jobs and prosecution is a possibility. Have you ever tried something a little extra to make the kids sleep?

PLEASE go to a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders before using Melatonin, it is not for everyone or every age!
