Christmas Copy Cats
I want to be the kind of mother who can really put on a good Christmas. Decorations, lots of gifts, spiced cider simmering on the stove. But the one thing I’ve learned since becoming a mother is that sure, kids change you, but not that much. You’re still the cheap, passive procrastinator you were during the holidays back in the barren years.
What I’d like is for someone else would do the heavy-lifting for me. Which is why this photo speaks to me deeply.
Chicago resident Dave Nosek, 41, has watched his neighbor’s over-the-top Christmas displays get bigger and more elaborate every year … “white bulbs dangling from the gutters, blue bulbs circling the windows, trees completely wrapped in multi-colored lighting,” a Chicago news station reports. There was no way Nosek could keep up with the Joneses, or, in his case, neighbor Chet Cybulski.
So he piggy-backed. And something tells me, Mr. Cybulski doesn’t mind one bit (in fact, it was Mr. Cybulski’s idea). Win-win!
The best part?
Where Cybulski, 52, spent nearly five days untwisting and arranging the lights for his yard, Nosek’s job took about an hour.
