222px dr nick 150x150 Tiger Woods Doctor Arrested for Drugs Morning NewsA doctor who treated Tiger Woods has been arrested for possession of illegal drugs, including those of the performance enhancing kind. HGH. Human Growth Hormone. The stuff that gets baseball fans all lathered up. While there is no evidence that Dr. Nick Riviera Dr. Tony Galea gave Woods HGH, he did treat “the golfer earlier this year with his platelet-rich plasma injection therapy, also known as ‘blood spinning,’” according to the New York Daily News.

When asked about the situation by the New York Times, Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg of I.M.G., told the paper of record in an email message: “I would really ask that you guys don’t write this? If Tiger is NOT implicated, and won’t be, let’s please give the kid a break.” Wow. And you were wondering where Tiger was getting all this great advice from.

In far more important sports news, Hideki Matsui signed a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Angels. Matsui was the World Series MVP this year, hitting “.615 (8 for 13) with 3 home runs and 8 RBI, including a World Series record-tying 6-RBI performance in Game 6.” The Yankees have been trying to sign Johnny Damon and figured if that didn’t work out they would sign Matsui instead. Um, hi. Yankees? Matsui was the World Series MVP. Johnny Damon left Game 6 of the World Series after getting hurt. I like Damon but he’s injury prone and wants a multi-year deal worth a lot more than $6.5 million. Shoulda just kept Matsui. (Yahoo! Sports)

Chris Brown is, like, all mad and stuff because Wal-mart didn’t give him the respect he deserves, yo. Brown, the R&B singer who beat up his girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year, was upset because a store didn’t have his CD. According to Wal-mart, they were just sold out of the stupid thing. Brown went on a Twitter rampage, and then shut down his account “after a final thank you message to his fans,” according to People.com. Stories like this make me think People should start a new site called IncrediblyStupidAndDangerousPeople.com.

Oh, and in really really important news, Nintendo will be selling pink and blue WiiMotes in the United States for Valentine’s Day. The who is on the what now? Yeah, I didn’t really care that much either. But somebody does. (Engadget)

And finally, in news that will actually affect people’s lives, the Democrats have bailed on their plan to offer Medicare to more Americans, largely because of opposition from Joe Lieberman. Joe Biden says he’s not happy with Lieberman. Yeah, join the club. (L.A. Times)
