How Does Tiana Rank in the Princess Pantheon?
My wife was pleasantly surprised and happy with the Princess and the Frog, the new Disney princess fest that took the top spot at the box office this weekend.
After the movie, she told me that Tiana, the first ever black Disney princess, was all about hard work and doing things for herself, and I kicked myself for not tagging along.
I had written a few days ago about holding back judgment on the character until we had a chance to see her in action. I couldn’t stand the idea of another wimpy girl just waiting around for the boys to save her.
Sounds like we have a winner.
