Kids Portable Nightlights Recalled
Kids who cart their portable nightlight around for some middle of the night comfort will see that blasting off when parents return the Sylvania Rocketship PalPODzzzTM Portable Nightlights to the store.
The CPSC announced a recall of the rocketship lights late last week, citing an electric shock hazard to the kids who cuddle them at bedtime.
Made by Osram Sylvania, some twenty-six thousand have been sold in the U.S. since last fall at The Home Depot, Stop & Shop, and other retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Smarthome.com, and Sylvaniaonlinestore.com.
Those involved in the recall sport model number 72174. The model number and date codes “0808″ or “0908″ are printed on the label attached to the bottom cover of the recharging base.
Sylvania has received reports from consumers of the recharging base breaking. The owners can then touch internal electrical components, which has resulted in minor electric shocks. To receive a refund, call Sylvania at 877-423-3772 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.
The Sylvania site is also offering replacement nightlights, but they advise you take the rocketship away from your kids immediately.
