Kid Still Sneezing One Month After She Started

sneezing lauren johnson Kid Still Sneezing One Month After She StartedA Virginia girl who started sneezing Nov. 1 is still at it today – but she’s down from sixteen sneezes a minute to eight.

Since she came down with something in late October, twelve-year-old Lauren Johnson has been under the weather. Then around the first of the month, she started sneezing. And sneezing. And sneezing.

Her parents talked to Hampton Roads TV station WVEC last week to explain their daughter isn’t faking it, and it’s not in her head. Doctors have ruled out Tourette’s syndrom and tics. They’ve administered antibiotics which has slowed down the sneezes.

But at every seven and a half seconds, it’s still impossible for Lauren to be a normal kid. What’s hardest for her parents to accept: one night she was “a perfectly normal child.” The next, she was like Sneezy from Snow White, only a real, living, breathing person.

Uncontrollable sneezing sounds funny at first, my husband came up with a good question: if you sneeze that often, how do you sleep? Or read (your eyes keep closing when you sneeze)?
