kyles lemonade 300x225 Kid Raises $115K Selling LemonadeHe’s just eleven-years-old, but Kyle Orent has racked up $115,000 in sales. His product? Good old lemonade.

The Long Island sixth grader has been setting up his stand since he was seven at local events. Rather than charge for his sweet and sour mix, he’s asked for donations which go to Canine Companions for Independence, a national non-profit which links assistance dogs with the disabled.

His goal was $20,000, but Orent smashed through that a long time ago with the help of extra fundraisers. In addition to lemonade, he’s sold his own toys, written to famous people and sold items they’ve signed (including Denis Leary and Hank Aaron) and run in a local race on a team for the CCI group.

Now he’s got more money to add to the pot. This month he became the youngest ever winner of the Bank of America’s Local Heroes award, which offered to send $5,000 to his favorite charity. No surprise – he chose CCI.

He’s trying to pass the torch to younger kids, but he’s still accepting donations on his own Website, Kyleslemonade.org.

Well, this almost makes up for the last Long Island story about the animal concentration camp lady…Man, I miss Lawn Guyland.
