Maclaren Strollers Recalled for Finger Amputations

maclaren stroller recall cpsc 300x300 Maclaren Strollers Recalled for Finger Amputations Makers of Maclaren strollers are telling parents to stop using the popular strollers, after a dozen reports that children sitting in them have had their fingers amputated on the side hinge.

Nine models of the popular Maclaren umbrella strollers are being recalled, including all of the single and double strollers manufactured since 1999.

You won’t have to part with your stroller, just get a repair kit cover for the hinge mechanism located on the side of the stroller. The company has received dozens of reports of fingertips being partially or completely amputated while the child is getting into the stroller and while sitting in the stroller the stroller was being unfolded.

The models in the recall are: Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

The repair kit can be ordered through the Maclaren website or by calling the company or the Consumer Product Safety Commission, who also ordered the recall.
