hasan fort hood shooting Morning News Fort Hood Shooting Terrorism? Some pundits are saying that the horrific Foot Hood shooting yesterday was a “terrorist act.” Some describe the shooter, Major Malik Nadal Hasan, as a “Muslim extremist” because of comments he made online. Hasan reportedly is suffering from PTSD, and is an Army psychiatrist who himself was trained to treat PTSD. Here’s a video of Hasan taken a few hours before the terrible shooting.

At the end of the video they say that the Fort Hood shooting is “one of the worst” ever reported at a U.S. military base. One of the worst? Not the worst? That’s depressing. As for terrorism, the Fort Hood shooting was terrible. Let’s leave it at that for now.

Here is some less sad news that isn’t exactly good. Some people that are not in high-risk groups have been getting the H1N1 vaccine, prompting the CDC to remind local authorities that “honor rules” when it comes to distributing the rare and potentially life-saving shots. (Reuters)

From the department of Headlines I Don’t Understand: “Japan vows $5.5 bln aid to Mekong region at summit.” I know the words “Japan”, “vows” and I think “bln” is short for “billion,” as in dollars. “Summit” I know as well. Also “aid” and “to.” Actually, I know all of those words. Put them together, I have no idea. (Reuters)

Rihanna is talking about Chris Brown and it seems like she could do some good in raising awareness about domestic violence. Remember that a lot of teenagers defended Brown when the incident occured. (ABC News)

Nancy Pelosi is trying to get votes for the Democratic health care plan. Some Democratic “moderates” are still undecided. The problem with the phrase “moderate” is that it implies that somehow the people voting for the health care plan are “extreme”, which is insane and also untrue, since a majority of Americans actually support health care reform. (SFGate)

And finally, creepy Mormon polygamist Raymond Jessop says that sleeping with a 15-year-old girl was “spiritual marriage” and not rape. Actually? It is rape. Rape is a legal definition. Talk to Roman Polanski. He knows. (Gawker)

Umm, yes, it was a terrorist act. “Terrorism” despite what the news would have you think does not just mean brown people shooting/blowing things up/running planes into buildings. If the shooter were white, it would still be terrorism. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. School shooters are terrorists. And so is this guy, Muslim or not.

Hmm, let’s see here. Apparently according to ignorant morons like brex here, terrorism is now defined as: Military personnel shooting military personnel on a military instillation.

It was not a terrorist act. Whats even more hilarious, if the people spouting such idiocy were not soo very sad, is that people like you brex cannot even define terrorism.

You know, without then condemning every single soldier in the rest of the world along with that definition.

And whats even worse, is that if you were to (for the first time ever) define terrorism so you could actually characterize it, the fact that MILITARY PERSONNEL SHOT MILITARY PERSONNEL AT A MILITARY INSTILLATION shreds ANY definition of terrorism. Thats the worst part, we finally have a clear cut case where terrorism has no place, and people like you actually call it that.
