Everyone has a bad hair day, but on Halloween you get one and only one chance to make your follicular mark, so you’d better get it right.  The folks over at Cozy’s Cuts for Kids in New York City have come up with fool-proof ways  to make your little trick-or-treater shine in some of this season’s most popular costumes.

Superman

For your budding superhero, here’s the way to go:  Take off glasses. Make hair VERY wet and use LOTS of gel.  Slick back hair with a comb.  Pull a small piece of hair forward and wrap it once around your finger…then press to set it on the forehead.

Hannah Montana

When hair is wet, spray in leave-in conditioner (helps keep hair straight and protect it from damage).  Using a paddle or vent brush, blow-dry straight.  If you’re dealing with an exceptionally curly girl, set upon her with a flat iron.  Use a dime-size amount of styling cream to keep hair smooth and prevent fly-aways.  Optional:  add a few crimps sporadically around the head by wetting and braiding a very small section.  When dry, remove the braids and a star is born!

Harry Potter

Recreating the locks on the boy wizard is a snap.  Use a fine tooth comb to make a side part on wet hair.  Let the hair air-dry and use styling cream to help hold hair with a natural look.  Then lightly tousle the mop with your fingers to encourage a natural wave.

My advice to mom’s whose girls want to be Amy Winehouse?  Purchase a bird’s nest and pray it’s just a phase.
