Obama Daughters Get H1N1 Vaccine

syringe sm250 Obama Daughters Get H1N1 VaccineThe emergence of the Swine Flu and the resulting vaccine has sent conspiracy theorists into overdrive.  One doesn’t have to look very hard to find fringe groups who sincerely believe that the H1N1 virus is a “bioterrorism attack by the New World Order” and that the vaccine itself is a “eugenics weapon” aimed at reducing the world’s population.  As evidence of their theories, they point to the fact that President Obama refuses to have his own children vaccinated against the virus.

Those conspiracy theorists will now have to look elsewhere for their proof as the White House has announced that Sasha and Malia Obama received the H1N1 vaccine last week.

While that should shut the conspiracy theorists up for a while, something tells me it won’t.  The same article on the White House Blog confirms that while the First Daughters were vaccinated against H1N1, the President and his wife were not.  They received only the seasonal flu vaccine.  Of course, the President and First Lady are not in the priority groups for the vaccine as identified the by CDC – those under the age of 24, pregnant women and people with underlying conditions. But a good conspiracy theorist never lets the facts get in the way.

CommentsI only read the first few paragraphs of this blog….But Can the writer blame any of us for having thoughts that something may be askew?! It just seems a bit too convinient that when the vaccine has begun to flow through the pipeline of distribution that suddenly a “state of emergency” and almost with a cue reports poor in from all over the country about thousands of cases and school closings. Whats to keep us from surmizing that the Obama girls werent given a special vaccine meant for the elite? What made him (Obama) change his mind and have his kids vaccinated? Maybe the special brew that they received was prepared minus the trace amounts of mercury that the normal vaccine containes. I wonder how many people are aware of the afformentioned fact.

jim, I think you are missing the point. Obama did not change his mind. His kids got the vaccine when it was available to everyone else. If they skipped the line and got it earlier, everyone would be screaming that they thought they were more important than other kids.

You are really stretching with the conspiracy theory. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the earth being flat.

K, I don’t think the vaccine is some “eugenics weapon” that is going to take down the population etc. So I’m not buying into any conspiracy theories. But I was surprised when I first heard that the Obama daughters were not vaccinated, (and of course i now know of the press release saying that they have been). Anyways, I think it is complete bull that anyone would use the logic “people would be mad if the obama daughters got special care”. If so…those people are …well….dumb. If the president truly has all the power and is the one and only decision maker for the state, then the FIRST children vaccinated should have been his daughters. A man with that much pressure on him to make important decisions for millions and millions of people should not have to worry about whether his kids will get H1N1. Most sane people would agree that we could give up two doses of the vaccine so that the president can run the show with a clear mindset. So, the fact that he’s been saying, oh it’s not available to us yet, or we arent high priority, is complete garbage. If you dont mind paying tax dollars to see that the presidents life is protected by an insane amount of security measures, intel, etc, then I’m sure every american could forgive the obama daughters for getting “special treatment.”
