Frenzy Alert: Wal-Mart Will Offer 100 Toys for $10

more black friday 300x253 Frenzy Alert: Wal Mart Will Offer 100 Toys for $10Walmart wants your money. The all important holiday shopping season is almost upon us and the super store chain will attempt to tempt consumers with cut rate deals. Last year Wal-Mart offered up 10 toys for $10 each. This year?

This year they’ve upped the ante and will be offering 100 toys at $10 each. The sale will include items like the Barbie Cut and Style Rapunzel (regularly $24.99), a Play-Doh Burger Builder Set (regularly $19.99) , Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Action Figures (regularly $14.99)  and My Little Pony So Soft Newborn ($24.00).

And always the competitor, Wal-Mart will match any local store who offers the same toy for under $10.

When this sale starts, I smell frenzy,  fistfights,  and some hardcore elbow jockeying. Their super sale can be dangerous, during last years holiday sale debut a worker died when they were trampled by an out of control shopping mob.  You’ve been warned.

Would you risk life and limb for a good toy deal?

No way, is not worth the hassle. What I have been doing is staying up late the day before black friday and try to catch as many deals as I can online, not only from WalMart but also Toys R Us, etc. I might not get the toys for $10 but if I get them for $15 it will be a lot sweeter than paying the $10 plus the price of dealing with lack of parking, a annoying crowd and long lines :)

The way the headline is written, it sounds like 100 toys for a total of $10, not $10 each.

Correct on the headline Em, but, there is still no way in heck that I’ll venture out on Black Friday. Sometimes I wonder if there aren’t public nuisance laws that could be enforced – it seems as though its as if you are yelling “FIRE” in a crowded theater with some of the Black Friday ads.

Eff Walmart. Seriously. Clearly they didn’t learn with last year’s Walmart worker getting trampled to death.

I wouldn’t set foot in that place if they were handing out toys for free. My kids don’t need that crap, and I don’t need to spend time in that wretched store.

I second Manjari – “toys” at that price won’t be toys for long, they’ll be ground into your carpet, destroyed in your car, and essentially in the trash within weeks/months of purchase. We’re better off spending on items of quality that have lasting value… (and tell me again how American’s get all bent out of shape about outsourced jobs/manufacturing? Wal-Mart outsourced those job by selling us CHEAP CRAP).

Well, all of you guys should be set as examples – you must be such good people… who would think of going to Walmart??!! Yuk!
Seriously, I will be happy more than happy to find toys for my kids at a price this low. It will mean more money for the more important things in our family life and I’m sure I’m not the only one. But it’s scary to admit, isn’t it? Even for you good people!
By the way, what happened to that worker last year is dramatic, but still an accident. I’m sure you can see that. Even you! You would if it had happened elsewhere, anyway.
