Reality Show Wants ‘Alternative’ Parents
Think your parenting is “out of the box?” It could land you inside the little box in your living room.
Producers working on a show for Discovery Health let Babble know they want you – our readers, aka, a new generation of parents.
The show is coming from Mike Mathis Productions, the company behind the likes of Renovation Nation on TLC, the Chef Jeff Project on the Food Network and Amazing Babies on Discovery Health. Experienced at crafting shows from reality, they’re hoping to create a “docu-reality” special featuring three families with “alternative parenting” styles.
Says spokeswoman Beth Belew: “the goal of the documentary is to show that although parents may make very different lifestyle choices for their families, they all have the same goal – happy, health children.”
So what’s an alternative parent? According to Belew, that means “some families that exemplify different styles of parenting.”
Also wanted? Anyone who lives in an unusual place or has an unusual job.
Families will need to set aside two days for shooting sometime in the next few months, but for now all they want is your details, your digits and some pics of your sweet ones.
