President Obama Will Wait in Line for the Swine Flu Shot

president barak obama 214x300 President Obama Will Wait in Line for the Swine Flu ShotThe first batches of swine flu vaccinations should be rolling out in about two weeks, but President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama won’t be among the first to be vaccinated.  Instead, they’ll wait until priority groups are immunized first.

“Here’s what I guarantee you,” Obama told CNN correspondant John King in an interview, “We want to get vaccinated. We think it’s the right thing to do. We will stand in line like everybody else. And when folks say it’s our turn, that’s when we’ll get it.”

Those priority groups include pregnant women, health care workers, children, and adults with underlying conditions.  Noting that he suspects he “may come fairly far down the line,” Obama said that his children would likely get the shot before he does, because of their young age.

It’s a reassuring sign that there’s no rush to vaccinate the First Family.  Does the fact that the Obamas are committed to getting the swine flu vaccine affect your decision to immunize your family?

T – hopefully you are joking. Just in case you are not, you do realize there have been clinical trials equivalent to those for the seasonal flu shots?

The president doesn’t have to wait in line. Nobody does! qless.com
We’ve come up with a way for people to avoid lines completely.

I hope anyone who’s pregnant who’s on the fence reads the CDC report on the impact of the flu on pregnant women–much more severe than you might think! So make sure you get your regular flu shot and your H1N1 flu shot…

Lauren68, they say “ignorance is bliss” aparently that is the case for T who got to LOL today on his/her crappy joke. On the other hand, I have been planning to get vaccinated (since I am almost 6 months pregnant) and get my toddler vaccinated as well, not because the Obamas are planning on getting vaccinated but because I am not taking chances with either the flu or the swine flu and that is one the few things I can do to stay healthy and to keep my familty healthy as well.

Can i just mention that the h1n1 vaccine contains mercury.
Mercury is linked to autism.
The shot has not been properly tested and you all need to stop listening to the media. Swine flu will do nothing to you.
The shot is more dangerous than the disease.
They prey on the minds of people like you (pregnant women) because they know you want to protect your families more than anything else so what do they do?
They create a media frenzy causing hysteria and panic and you all run to get yourselves and your kids vaccinated even though all your doing is giving them permission to pump carcinogens and dna damaging substances into your systems and into the systems of your children who haven’t even had a chance to develop their own immune system!
You people are fucking crazy if you accept the vaccine.

CommentsMy kid just got sent home because he has a mild fever and sore throat. I was very opposed to the flu vaccine because of the ingredients which are obviously highly toxic. Are these people trying to wipe us out? Do I vaccinate my other two kids? I don’t want them to develop autism or whatever cancer will develop later in their lives. I am very confused…..WTF do I do?

Me in Ohio commented on Oct 14 09 at 11:34 am

To the person who said that this vaccine was put through the same trials as any vaccine – that is not true. The vaccine was not ready on time so the FDA just licensed it on the results of previous vaccines even though some of these shots (Novartis and Aventis and Baxter) use new genetically engineered processes and also adjuvants (toxic chemicals added to reduce the amount of virus required in the vaccine so it will go further) that have never been approved for use in humans. These adjuvants are closely related to the vaccine ingredients believed by researchers such as Dr Meryl Nass and others to be linked with Gulf War Syndrome.
Lastly, giving this vaccine to pregnant women is criminally negligent. NO vaccine has EVER been tested in pregnant women so any woman who takes this shot is a guinea pig as is her unborn child.
Before making a decision, do your own research and vaccinate because you think it’s best, not because someone has told you to or you are afraid. Think back – any decisions you made from fear in the past probably turned out to be wrong. http://www.avn.org.au

People, please research. National Vaccine Information Center nvic.org is a good place to start.

Ugh, no, I won’t be taking the vaccine, and no, the Obamas’ decision doesn’t affect mine. To protect yourself from the flu, make sure you take plenty of vitamin C and D, eat healthy foods, and wash your hands. See alternative practitioners for more information. But there is PLENTY you can do to protect your family, you do not need a shot!

Pregnancy Category C: Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine or Fluzone vaccine. It is also not known whether these vaccines can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or ca…n affect reproduction capacity. Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.

I will believe it when I see it. Aren’t his kids in the priority group?

I don’t think so! Do you know what those vaccines contain? I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and I just got over the flu. My daughter brought it home from school. I haven’t had the flu in over 10 years, but it’s alright to get it once in a while. Do you know why??? It makes my immunity stronger. Now, my unborn daughter has some immunity as well.
I’m not totally anti-vaccine, but I’m sick of them being pushed upon us. I stay pretty healthy because I eat, which is key. (at least for my family and myself) I believe others mentioned healthful habits, such as hand washing, etc.

The risks out weigh the benefits. More chances than not you will not get the flu. If you do keep coming down with the flu each year, well maybe you should go to the Dr. and find the reasons why.
