Real Estate Bust Hits Playhouse Market

kid mansion exterior 300x199 Real Estate Bust Hits Playhouse MarketI bet Ben Bernanke didn’t see this one coming either.

A Grand Portico Mansion Playhouse (DIY! New in box!) is listed on eBay and priced way under market value (hey, that’s housing for you). Prebuilt, it would set you back $9115 but power seller “smiggz” is letting this one go for $4,750.

Some lucky little Iowan (local pick up only) will be able to upgrade child’s play from her collapsing cardboard box and host a tea party among the mansion playhouse’s four stately columns. Just tap on the 22 working windows made from safety glass and screens and come on in. Tea’s getting cold!

Over at Lemondrop, Andrea Zimmerman saw the listing and immediately mourned lost youth. But we parents who love our children know that, even in times of financial ruin, a loft with ladder, adult-sized French door and high-quality siding and trim is the only way to bring your child’s imagination up to industry standard.

How much will you bid?

Uh – can I live in it? It’s pretty and bigger than some apartments.

You know, I think it is just that it is to ostentatious. That kind of blatant architectural show-off-man-ship is so 1980′s. Todays little girl wants a cool, retro 1950s mod mini mansion.
