Michael Jackson’s Kids to Be Home Schooled

michael jacksons children 243x300 Michael Jackson’s Kids to Be Home SchooledMichael Jackson’s kids – Prince, Paris and Blanket – have always been home schooled.  No public, private or elite learning establishment for them. But after their dad’s death there was some speculation that their guardian Katherine Jackson would be sending them to the exclusive Buckley School where Tito’s kids went. But it is now being reported that the kids will continue their studies with the same tutors they’ve had before who were hired by Jackson.

But the family will attempt to create a “normal” school environment for the kids with regular scheduled lunch/recess breaks and the alleged plans of building a school yard and a volleyball court at the family compound.

Continuing with the same teachers who are apparently doing a grand job is a smart move to keep some consistency with the kids upbringing. But do you think it’s wrong or wise to keep the children out of a traditional school setting?

While I have no plan to homeschool my own daughter, I do not think it is ‘wrong’ for MJ’s kids to be homeschooled. Thousands of kids are homeschooled all over N. America and while some do poorly, a large percentage of those kids get an amazing education. And often they arn’t always turning out as socially inept people who cannot integrate into normal society. Living in a bubble will harm kids way more then homeschooling.

They are so far behind they cant get into that prep school. They traveled so much they have had very little formal schooling. They are doing this to help them catch up so they can attend school. Jackson did not put a premium on education since he did not have one himself, I think he made it through 6th grade or so.

I agree with C.G But they are going to home schooled with the sadness in their heart with his fathers death. It will definitely affect the kids. This is the time where they nee love and affection. So it is not good for home schooling CLD

What’s to be gained by placing them in a traditional school setting right now?

I would say “preparation for a normal life,” Mistress_Scorpio, but since there’s little chance of that, it’s probably a moot point. His children are going to have enough money to do whatever they want and don’t need a formal education in preparation of getting a cubicle desk job. I hope that the Jacksons are finding other children for them to socialize with, though, because it’s important for them to learn those peer-relational skills.

Ali, where are you getting that information? From everything I’ve read he put a *very* high priority on their education. They have always had tutors and home schooling… just like thousands of other children. When they traveled, I’m sure the tutors traveled with them.

Home Schooling is also nice since you got to always see your kids.*,’
