Sarah Palin Wanted to Adopt Grandson and Raise As Her Own

sarah palin baby 264x300 Sarah Palin Wanted to Adopt Grandson and Raise As Her OwnIt sounds like Sarah Palin was not ready to be a grandma. According to Levi Johnston, who is the father of her grandson, Palin had a scheme to adopt her daughter’s son and raise it as her own.  Does she just like children that much or did she want to try to hide the fact that her daughter got herself knocked up, was unwed and did so at such a young age? Levi told Vanity Fair magazine:

“Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging — she wouldn’t give it up. She would say, ‘So, are you gonna let me adopt him?’ We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn’t want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.”

He continues to say in the interview that the Palin home wasn’t what people would think it was like. “The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn’t much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn’t cook, Todd doesn’t cook — the kids would do it all themselves.” And he also states that Palin ain’t the hockey mom or hunter she claimed she was saying that she rarely went to her son’s hockey games and had to ask Levi how to use a gun.

The Palin camp has not commented on this story but had previously discounted Levi’s claims.
Do you think these things are true or is Levi just trying to hang onto his 15 minutes as long as he can?

Levi is just trying to hang onto his 15 minutes of fame. The biggest question I have about any of this is why does Vanity Fair interview him?

oh come on. Are we expected to believe that Gov. Palin told Levi and Bristol she would pass their baby off as hers—five months after she had her own baby?

It sounds like a young man who is trying to punish the mother of his child. It also sounds like a blogger who hate Palin and wants to believe the worst.

Let’s say the he’s right and she offered to adopt the baby. Perhaps she simply thought it would be easier on her daughter and grandchild to have adults raising the baby. No.. you assume the worst in her always. I think that says as more about you as it does anyone else.

I agree with Lisa. Many young grandparents care for or adopt their grandchild to give the young parent a chance to get their life on track. Palin’s daughter was/is young and most likely unable to care for a baby as she was still in school and not mature. This is not to say all teen parents are like this but some just need some extra help.

Hey, I don’t blame Levi. He’s doing what he can to make some money so he can afford a lawyer so he can see his child.

There is no state that requires a parent to be represented by an attorney to file for visitation. People work out visitation schedules all the time without lawyers–or in complicated cases, with attorneys who work pro bono or offer payment schedules. Filing fees related to a pretty cut-and-dry petition for visitation are not terribly high, either. Try again Mistress Scorpio.

Sarah who? What’s this about a baby?

GP commented on Sep 02 09 at 11:20 pm

Yeah, Dianna. He has a chance against the Lipsticked Bulldog herself. She of the bendy rules and he of the drug dealing mom. No power differential there.

The lipsticked bulldog herself? She’s the former gov, not the grand mistress of all of Alaska. I don’t like palin much either, but seriously? Even if palin had some influence over the family court, how is he helping by making money publicly trashing his kid’s other parent and grandparents, instead of working a regular, responsible job near his kid? In my experience judges are pretty annoyed at co-parents who bash each other’s families or parenting in front of the kid, let alone in the media.

I don’t know anyone who if faced with their pregnant 17 year old daughter who wouldn’t be willing to adopt the baby to give their daughter a chance to get on her feet. I think its a pretty natural reaction. There are girls out there who do go on to do well despite having kids so young, but there are a lot who get bogged down with daily life trying to pay for their children. I don’t know if what Levi is saying is true, but if he was saying that Palin and her family were the picture of perfection he wouldn’t get 1/10th the attention he would for ridiculing her.

Free legal advice for Levi Johnston

STFU

Get a job and an apartment near your ex. Babyproof said apartment and stock up on all the essentials your son needs.

STFU

Make it a point to find out what social service agencies offer parenting classes for divorcing/separating couples in your area, and when these classes are held. Put in a request to have these times off from your job.

Write two respectful letters to Bristol Palin and to her parents. Apologize for airing dirty laundry in public and request that Bristol meet you in a neutral location, like a restaurant, to discuss visitation and the possibility of enrolling in co-parenting classes and/or hiring a family counselor to act as a mediator. Send these letters by certified mail, so that there is a clear paper trail.

Oh, and STFU. Don’t let anyone hear you say a negative word about anyone named Palin untill you have a judge’s order detailing your visitation rights in your hot little hands.

Wow I found this page on Yahoo poking around for something else entirely, and now I’m swing back by and go over the rest of your site.

“Do you think these things are true or is Levi just trying to hang onto his 15 minutes as long as he can?” Sigh… who says it can’t be both?
