15 pound baby and normal size 300x224 Romanian Mom Gives Birth to a Baby (Gorilla?)Prepare to cross your legs!

A Romanian woman has given birth to an enormous baby girl, Luciana Munteneau. She’s more than twice the size of many newborns and several inches longer. Luciana joins her eight other siblings, all of whom were on the bigger side but none of whom reached her epic proportions.

So, how about the stats.

15 pounds and 24 inches long. What a big baby!

Luciana’s mother she knew she was carrying a lot of baby this pregnancy, too. Thing is, she sort of suspected she would give birth to twins.

No word on whether it was a c-section. I mean, you just really have to hope.

Check out big ol’ Luciana. Don’t you just want to invite the whole neighborhood over to snack on her? I love fat babies.

That’s a very big baby. I’m not sure I would like anyone calling my baby girl a gorilla, though. It seems mean.

My lady bits are cringing just looking at that baby. Holy moly!

trudi commented on Sep 02 09 at 4:32 pm

yeah, I don’t really get the gorilla thing

GP commented on Sep 02 09 at 4:35 pm

I was expecting some sort of mutant hairy beast. That’s just a (really) big baby.

The gorilla comment was mean and not funny. A baby that big may have health problems or the mom may. Cute big baby, I agree

Poor girl, she’s just born and already being called names.

I wonder if the mother had gestational diabetes, that usually leads to big babies.

Gotta agree with everyone on the gorilla comment. Not nice.

Gorilla! wrong word, but how that head manages to step ousite! poor mothers :(

I refuse to believe that you called a new born baby a gorilla! On a website about children!? Tolerance much?

KellyK commented on Sep 03 09 at 9:54 am

She is cute, all babies are, but I hope there are no health complications- seems like this must be gestational diabetes that was completely uncontrolled. Since mom did not know if she was having twins or not, clearly there was no prenatal care. I hope they are both ok. The gorilla part doesn’t bother me- I know what you meant. Bet baby gorillas are smaller than baby homo sapiens when they are born, tho.

Nice… How Politically Correct… So, the baby looks like a normal baby, human anatomy, no extra body hair, just a bigger HUMAN baby.
Still, if you have the opportunity to call ROMANIANS names, (gypsies, gorillas and other names). That proves how tolerant you really are… And you dare to make comments about Madonna being “booed” in Bucharest for talking about gypsies rights…

I really hate double standards and hypocrisy.

Better late than never, right? Hey, folks, I’m sorry I referred to the big baby as a gorilla — a habit I formed after giving birth to my own 11-pound whopper (we introduced her as “the baby gorilla we were raising in captivity”). No harm intended! I happen to love baby gorillas and baby humans — all baby primates, really — especially the super fat ones. All the best to baby Luciana. And, completely separate from those well wishes, all the best to baby primates the ’round the world!
