Kids Comics This Week – Batman, Shazam, More

hey kids comics 150x150 Kids Comics This Week Batman, Shazam, More

Big week for comics, at least in terms of how much is coming out. Let’s get to it:

Batman The Brave And The Bold #8: this time Batman teams up with The Great Ten, a team of Chinese superheroes. My buddy at Midtown Comics said that this was a good issue, with more information about the Ten than there has been, well, ever. Could be fun.

Billy Batson And The Magic Of SHAZAM #7: this book has been a hit in my house since it started; in fact, I get more complaints of “why didn’t SHAZAM come out this week?” than I do with any other title. Now that the “Tiny Titans” team of Art Baltazar and Franco (he goes by only one name, like Sting) have taken over, it will probably be enjoyed that much more.

Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #54

Wolverine First Class #18

Wolverine Magazine #3:  At $6.99, this isn’t really worth it, especially since it’s mostly reprints. But it has a lot of pages, plus puzzles and stuff. And my kids aren’t in school yet. So into the “yes” pile is goes.

Disney Pixars Incredibles #0: This one is notable because it starts an ongoing “Incredibles” series; I yakked last week about how BOOM! Studios had a lot of hits on their hands with its Disney/Pixar comics, clearly I was right. Also, the writer is Mark Waid, who has done a lot of work on titles like The Flash and Captain America. Not sure if this is his first time writing an all-ages comic, but as far as I know that isn’t his usual area of expertise. He is also the Editor In Chief of BOOM! Studios, so he wasn’t hard to get for this project. I will say that I really don’t get the “Issue #0″ thing. But hey, whatever works.

Disney Pixars Toy Story Mysterious Stranger TP: Collecting the Toy Story mini series from BOOM! Studios. $9.99

Muppet Show Treasure Of Peg-Leg Wilson #2: More Muppets. What else do you want?

Sonic Universe #7

Betty & Veronica #243: Archie may or may not be getting married but life goes on in other parts of the Archie-verse. Did I just type the word “Archie-verse?” Excuse me, I have to go watch Sportscenter or something.

Jugheads Double Digest #153
