I know how to get people to pick up their dog’s poop: make posters of kids eating dog s—. Oh wait, that’s a horrible idea. Not so, says the UK.

I like thinking of the poster as warning that children who eat dog poop will be slapped with a 75-pound fine.

Wait, so is there a government approved list of things that kids can or can’t put in their mouth in the UK?

I would like that poster put up in my neighborhood. Especially around the park!

I don’t know. I loathe people who bring dogs to playgrounds, but I do believe that kids have a natural aversion to shit. My daughter cried the couple times she took a crap without a diaper and was repulsed by it. Same thing when she accidentally stepped in an accident our dog had in the house.

I’m not sure about that GP. My mom tells a story where my elder brother as a toddler smeared his own poo all over his crib and the wall behind it. She’s not the only person I’ve heard tell a story like this either. On topic, way gross poster. I think the fine would be enough without grossing people out.

Kids under two love poop. Smear it everywhere. After that they adopt mommy and daddy’s aversion to it. Which brings the question: if our parents never taught us poop is naughty would we still smear it on stuff?

cole gamble commented on Aug 11 09 at 12:10 pm

Yeah, I’ve heard about the smearing of the poo by the little ones. Glad my little angel bypassed that. We instilled an early aversion, I guess : )Though we talk about poo and farting all the time, so she’s cool with the process.
Some people grow up to still smear poo all over stuff (GG Allen, etc.)

dog poop…the new “gateway” drug. friends dont let friends eat dog crap. seriously though, that has to be a problem in the UK. otherwise i doubt they would make posters on it. then again, here in America, everyone is scared of who they might offend if a message is put out. so in my opinion, either 1) the UK has bigger balls then the US, or 2) kids eating dog crap is a problem.
