Bad Dad Alert: Ryan O’Neil Hits on Tatum at Farrah’s Funeral
Truth is sometime stranger than fiction. Here’s the scene. The love of your life dies. In the midst of the funeral, right after a hearse takes your loved one’s casket away, what do you do? You hit on your daughter.
Now this is something that probably about 98.5% of mourners would not do. And if they did flirt with someone at their partner’s memorial – who turned out to be your kid – probably about 99.9% wouldn’t admit it. Ryan O’Neil? He went there and tells everyone all about it.
O’Neil told Vanity Fair (via Huffington Post) that, “I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me. I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me–Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”
Tatum’s reaction? She sighed and said, “That’s our relationship in a nutshell. You make of it what you will. It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.” Oh and he gets bonus bad daddy points for calling his daughter Tatum “a bitch” and allegedly giving his 11 year old son Griffin cocaine.
On his own parenting skills, Vanity Fair included:
“I’m a hopeless father. I don’t know why. I don’t think I was supposed to be a father. Just look around at my work–they’re either in jail or they should be.” He doesn’t talk to any of his kids except for Redmond, whom he visits in jail. “I was in touch with them for years, and I was a mess,” he says of the others. “I’m not in touch with them now, and I’ve never been happier.” When asked if he’s sorry he had children, he nods…”A couple of them I would take back,” he says.
On a level of bad dad-ness from 1 to 10, where does O’Neil land?
