Boy Goes for 8-Mile River Ride in a Toy Truck
A three-year-old boy was found unharmed after he took an eight-mile ride down a river in northeastern British Columbia perched atop his little red toy truck.
Without a life jacket, or really any boating skills (or a driver’s license), he floated down the swift-moving Peace River for nearly 2 hours. Just taking in the scenery.
After his parents realized he wasn’t at the campsite with other relatives, they alerted the Canadian Mounted Police. A boater spotted him and pulled the boy — and the toy truck, the kid insisted — from the river.
Authorities say the boy had no idea he was in any kind of danger and that he had wandered off in the truck, which looks like one of those kid-sized motorized vehicles you see at playgrounds and on sidewalks and make you think: lazy, lazy, lazy. (Or maybe that’s just me.) Who knew they were so multi-purpose?

Oh- and it’s the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)- “CMP” just doesn’t have the same ring to it :)
