MJ’s Dermotologist Claims He’s Not the Dad

05_Flatbed_1 - JULYA week after reports circulated that Michael Jackson’s dermatologist and close friend, Arnold Klein, is the biological father of Jackson’s kids Prince and Paris, Klein spoke out against the rumor on “Good Morning America” today. The claim that Klein served as the sperm donor for Debbie Rowe, who briefly worked for Klein, was first reported by US Weekly and attributed to “anonymous sources.”

Klein’s denial of paternity was almost equally murky. He told ABC, “To the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children. I can’t answer it in any other way. I don’t want to feed any of this insanity that is going around.”

Despite the odd wording of his denial, I have to agree with Klein that it doesn’t seem worthwhile to put energy into paternity speculations. At this point, it seems that it’s in Paris and Prince’s best interest to let the sperm donor question rest. With so much confusion and denial, no clear answers appear likely. And, as far as Paris and Prince are concerned, Jackson was their father, and no one else.

It’s hard enough to deal with the death of a parent at such a young age. Then to have the people who may (or may not) be your biological parents–Rowe and Klein–denying any claims to you in widely publicized international news seems to add an unnecessary level of pain and confusion to the tragedy. My hope is that Jackson’s kids can find some peace under the care of extended family, and that their period of grieving is not complicated by worries about unanswerable questions.

Does anyone out there think Jackson might have been a eunuch? These are the things that keep me from sleeping at night.
