SJP and Broderick Give One Twin More Names Than the Other
A family friend of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick reported the parents are over the moon for their twin daughters, born early yesterday morning in Ohio.
Late yesterday, the couple announced the girls’ names — both get middle names honoring families on Sarah’s side.
I’m a little confused, though. And worried on behalf of one of the twins.
You see, she got four names, according to ABC News, but I’ve noticed the other only got three. Can you do that?
Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick was 5 pounds 11 ounces at birth. Tabitha Hodge Broderick was 6 pounds.
Is the name imbalance going to backfire, or am I the only one raising a rather petty bean counter of a child who gave me grief for having planned to give the baby girl we didn’t have my middle name?
While we’re at it, what do you think of the names? Not as classic as their big brother’s — James Wilke –Â but nothing too wild for everybody to make fun of. (Loretta is surprisingly country, though.)
Let’s hear it. Baby name hit or miss?

PlumbLucky commented on Jun 24 09 at 9:55 amI like these names.
FWIW - my sisters (and I) have four names; the brothers only three. Didn’t seem to do much to us all, I dare say we all smacked each other around equally growing up, now we all get along pretty much the same.
Marcie commented on Jul 15 09 at 3:54 amYeah I think the twins will love and hate each other for various reasons through their lives. In their rivalry the name thing may come up, but no matter what the names the girls could make an issue out of it if they wanted. My twins are almost 4, it’s a love hate thing, tonight they were standing there hugging each other so tight (out of love), but they tripped, and it turned into a smacking session (NOT love). Ahhh to have a built in best friend to push around when you feel like it!
Sara commented on Oct 10 09 at 9:41 pmI think Marion will hate Tabitha for just having a cuter name because “Marion” sounds like a grandma’s name or the name of a politician and let’s face it, we all think of the cute little nose wiggler when we hear “Tabitha”.
