Morning News – McCain Not Happy With Obama

mccainmonster 150x150 Morning News McCain Not Happy With ObamaSo remember when I said that John McCain had backed off of his criticism of President Obama’s response to the Iranian elections? Not so much. On CSPAN, Senator McCain reiterated that President Obama should… well, here. Take a look.

What exactly is the Senator suggesting the President should do? Speak out? To what end? It’s called diplomacy, dude. Let’s give it a try.

Representative Dana Rohrabacher goes even further. He actually said that “If [Obama] would have been talking even a little bit tougher a few days ago we might not have seen the violence and bloodshed of this repressive regime in Tehran in the last two days.” Here’s the clip:

Wow. What happened to “support the President?” I guess that rule only applies when its your own party.

In other more mellow government news, Representative Barney Frank submitted a bill last week to “decriminalize the personal possession of marijuana at the federal level in quantities less than 100 grams and would reduce the penalty for using pot in public.” Sing it with me now:

I wonder if that will ever happen in my lifetime. California already allows pot smoking for medicinal purposes. (I know that’s an oversimplification, but it’s not entirely wrong. Feel free to correct me.) I somehow don’t think full legalization will occur anytime soon. Then again, I’ve been wrong before. (Shocking, I know.)

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being sued. For plagiarism. Apparently she wrote a book called “The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide.” Except that a woman named Susan Hassett claims that she sent Hasselbeck a copy of her book “Living With Celiac Disease.” Hassett now claims that Hasselbeck “stole” some of that to write her book. TMZ’s headline is “Hasselbeck Accused of No Original Thoughts”, which is funny.

Economy got you down? Sell your iPhone 3G S! CNET is reporting that some folks are upgrading their old iPhones, only to turn around and sell said upgrade to the highest bidder. As Borat might say, “Nice.”

And finally, the Associated Press has informed their staff that they need to be careful what other people say on their Facebook pages. Or “to make sure material posted by others doesn’t violate AP standards.” So… they should read what other people say on their Facebook Walls or whatever and delete anything that they think AP won’t like? Really, AP? Really?

Awww, I feel for old McRage. If he were the one calling the shots we’d totally be at war with Iran right now, possibly inching our way towards WW3. It must be really tough for these guys to watch an adult in charge, someone who doesn’t immediate respond with “To hell with a plan! Nuts to consequences! It’s time to KICK ASS!”

Maybe McCain wants us to, as he once sang, “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran”..?

Anyone remember when “Bomb Iran” was actually played on the radio?

in 1980? Way before McCain “sang” it.
