Girl Looks Like a Baby But Is Actually 16
How old do you think Brooke Greenberg is (pictured right here on the left). Would you say one or two years old? If so, you’d be off. Way off. Brooke Greenberg is 16. The teenager hasn’t aged in the ‘conventional sense’. She is the size of an infant at 16 pounds and 30 inches in height and her brain functions like a toddler. The science community is – obviously – totally fascinated by Brooke’s situation.
Her case appears to be different than other kids with stunted growth issues. Lawrence Pakula – her pediatrician at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine – said that “many of the best-known names in medicine, in their experience…had not seen anyone who matched up to Brooke…she is always a surprise.”
Although doctors say she hasn’t grown physically or mentally, her mother sees in her teenage girl behavior saying, “She loves to shop…just like a woman.” When they do hit the stores – with Brooke in a stroller – other mothers will stop and ask how old Brooke is. Stating the fact that she is sixteen would be startling and would take a whole lot of explanation. So her mom says, “my system has been to turn year into months. So, if someone asked today, I might say, she’s 16 months old.”

ulzha commented on Jun 30 09 at 2:33 pmNothing tragic. Duuurrgh. Fantastic family, if you read into.

Eternally (or close to) young…?
I wonder what she will look like when she’s older, say 40 or 45?
Ben commented on Jul 26 09 at 12:48 amwill she be legal in two years?
Congratulations, Ben! commented on Jul 27 09 at 8:01 pmThe internet!
Sakena commented on Jul 29 09 at 5:36 pmActually…that is a good question. I wonder as well if she would be considered legal in two years or not, though I imagine due to her mental ‘age’ there would be good odds that she won’t be.
Tom commented on Jul 30 09 at 7:00 pmNo fucking way. This is bullshit. You can’t be born and not grow physically or mentally. That’s just fucking Tuck Everlasting. Nope. No way. Can’t happen, didn’t happen, won’t happen. False. haha

KageTora commented on Aug 07 09 at 9:11 amI am not sure whether to believe it, but if it IS true, I suppose it brings a whole new meaning to ‘sweet sixteen’. I have worked with children with primordial dwarfism, but this is a whole new ball-game – if it is true.
