Jon & Kate Have Been Living ‘Separate And Apart’ for TWO Years!
If you were wondering why Jon and Kate seemed so emotionally distant for the last two years it may be because there was a real physical distance between the parents of eight. According to divorce papers filed on Monday (which the AP got their hands on), Jon and Kate Gosselin have been living “separate and apart” for at least two years. The papers also say that their 10-year marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
I wasn’t an avid watcher of the show but from what I saw the couple was far from being connected and cuddly. But they did attempt to ‘go on with the show’, even renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii last year. Now that’s some pure acting right there. Me thinks it was just a good way to get a free all expense paid trip to Hawaii.
But they can truly afford many tropical vacations since being stars of their own reality show has been very lucrative. And with all those assets – and kids – the Gosselin’s will have a tough time divvying it all up. They, so far, have not been able to agree upon a way to financially do the split – emotionally yes.
The tabloids will be telling the tale over the coming months since they’ve been responsible for a great uptick in sales for rags like UsWeekly. But the show itself? Thankfully it will be on a “hiatus.” At least all the airing of their dirty laundry won’t be televised.
Check out the video of them renewing their vows below. Does it seem fake to you?

PlumbLucky commented on Jun 24 09 at 9:14 amTMZ just posted a link with an explanation that sounded correct – that if Jon won’t agree that the marriage is broken beyond repair (which he may not; if he does its a 90 day thing) then she’ll still be able to get her no-fault divorce if they live separate and apart for two years; sounds like she’s covering her butt. But it did indicated that they haven’t been living apart for two years.
