They Say: Good Marriage = Good Sleep (For Women)

badsleep 300x225 They Say: Good Marriage = Good Sleep (For Women)If you suffer from insomnia or feel like you never get a good night’s sleep, instead of giving up caffeine or doing yoga or (heaven forbid!) forgoing pre-bed emailing checking or book reading work on your marriage. A new study shows that women in stable marriages sleep better.

From Science Daily:

According to the study’s lead author, Wendy Troxel, PhD, Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, women who were stably married had the highest quality sleep measured objectively and subjectively, and these results persisted even after controlling for other known risk factors for sleep, including age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and depressive symptoms.

If you’re single and sleep like crap, quick, rush in to a relationship! It’ll take a while for the full pay-off, since women who had gained a partner in the past eight years still had restless sleep. But over all, they slept better than their single — or not happily  married — counterparts.

Think this woman‘s got regrets?
