Lazy bakers, look out. That Toll House cookie dough in the fridge may contain e.Coli.
Nestle, the makers of Toll House, have issued a voluntary recall of the stuff due to a number of recent illnesses possibly linked to the dough.
Important note, however: the reported illnesses were after the dough had been eaten raw — sure, who doesn’t like that. But there are warnings on the package, so …
The recall includes [via LA Times]: refrigerated cookie bar dough, cookie dough tub, cookie dough tubes, limited edition cookie dough items, seasonal cookie dough and Ultimates cookie bar dough. It does not affect any other Toll House products.
Back to baking from scratch (although you shouldn’t eat that dough, which includes eggs, raw either).
