Faking It On Father’s Day: The Gift

In addition to withholding love and not crying in front of others, fathers used to have the ability to hide disappointment on Father’s Day.

“A Teddy bear tie clip!”

But this new generation of fathers, raised on emotional expression, honesty, openness, joy, isn’t terribly convincing during a Father’s Day gift fakeout.

So what’s a dad who wouldn’t recognize stoicism if it came up and stared him blankly in the face to do?

Take a Father’s Day Acting class. It’s tough, you’ll have to go method. But, Daddy, this is the role of a lifetime.
