They Say: Kate Gosselin is a Wino

kate gosselin 225x300 They Say: Kate Gosselin is a WinoIf I was Kate, I’d probably be hitting the bottle too.  New ‘reports’ are saying that Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate Plus 8 fame enjoys one, two, three or more glasses of vino after a long day of filming, being chasing by the paparazzi, and raising eight children.  Someone who used to work for the family says that she witnessed Kate finish off a bottle of wine, without the aid of Jon, several times a week after the kids were put to bed.

The source, who worked for the Gosselin’s for 6 months stated that “Jon didn’t usually drink with her, and he didn’t seem pleased with it…he’d roll his eyes and tell Kate to put the wine down. She’d answer, ‘Screw you. I’ll do what I want.’ Her frustration with the kids seemed to be taking a toll, and drinking was her outlet.”

Is there anything wrong with getting your ‘drink on’ after the kids are in bed?

No, as long as you aren’t impaired if something happens to the kids. I don’t mind having an occasional adult beverage. Not a huge deal, unless you can’t cope without it.

I suppose its better to “get your drink on” after the kids are in bed as opposed to getting sloshed while they’re still awake.

But…there’s no good black or white answer to this question. What does “get your drink on” mean to you? I come from a family where it is fully normal to have beer with dinner; I don’t mean “knock back a 12-er”, I mean “a 8 oz. glass of beer”. I think the trouble comes in when you’re using alcohol as an escape, where its hurting you/your family, where its impacting your daily life, when you’re using it as a crush. So really, I hope this is just more Gosselin gossip and this isn’t adding insult to injury of the situation.

Though I must say, if my hubs had an issue with something I was doing to “unwind”, I suspect I might just take a step back and do some self-review…

Kate has 8 kids. She should man up and be a parent, drop the show, drop the booze.

As long as they’re not both hitting the bottle I don’t see a problem with it. Jon is sober enough to drive in case of an emergency with one of the kids, and if I was her and had to deal with Jon all day I’d probably be doing more than just drinking. And btw, a few glasses of wine after the kids are in bed a few nights a week is NOT wino. It’s enjoying one of the luxuries of being a grown adult after a hard day with 8 kids. And a boo hoo poor me husband

This is one thing I certainly can’t fault her. I’m thinking of taking up drinking myself.

I have a glass or two of wine after my daughter goes to bed…and usually while I’m watching J&K+8.

she has eight kids. i think she deserves to unwind a little after they’ve all gone to bed. she’s going through a rough time right now. let the woman have some wine.

I think the article should be titled They Say: Anything About Kate People Will Read. It is getting really old really fast. I am sure there are more amazing and interesting things to report about. This is not really about parenting as much as it is about rubbing someone through the mud. Seriously, StrollerDerby, we get it. You don’t like her. Move on.
