Bo Obama Plush Toy Announced
PeoplePets (isn’t that a contradiction?) is reporting that there will indeed be a First Dog toy for your little one to love.
Sayeth the site: “German toy manufacturers Koesener Spielzeugmanufaktur have created a stuffed Bo Obama, made to resemble the famed Portuguese water dog who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.”
One wonders if the Obamas will be annoyed the way they were with the Sasha and Malia Beanie Babies. Even though Ty Inc. said that the names “Marvelous Malia” and “Sweet Sasha” were just a big ol’ coincidence (Really, Ty Inc.? Really?), they were eventually renamed to “Marvelous Mariah” and “Sweet Sydney” out of “deference to the wishes of the First Family.” Apparently there has already been a Bo Beanie Baby, and even a Bo watch. So far neither the First Lady or the Commander-in-Chief has complained, as far as I know. So maybe pets really aren’t just like children.
It might make sense to buy one of these purely as an investment. According to PeoplePets (for some reason that name amuses me) the Bo Beanies sold out quickly, and the $4.99 dolls are now selling for as much as $2,000 on eBay. Better than the stock market, that.
