Our Treat: This Ice Cream Doesn’t Melt!
That’s it. I’m calling the movers and packing up for the nearest town with a Cold Stone Creamery.
Because the home of the singing ice cream mixing staff is now boasting non-melting ice cream.
Picture it: no more “hurry up and eat it before it melts honey.” No more “Moooooooommy, my ice cream just dripped off the cone!” Just pure and utter cold creamy summer bliss with the kids.
Working with Jell-O to make the new ice cream, Cold Stone says it will be creamy at ice cold temperatures (useless fact courtesy of my dad the refrigeration contractor: you’ve got to keep vanilla soft serve at twenty-five degrees or below to keep it frozen, but chocolate requires even lower temps). As it warms up, instead of melting, it will develop a pudding-like consistency (can’t you just hear Mr. Cosby now?).
Available in all Cold Stone locations come July, the initial ice cream offering will come this month in select locations. Once I figure out where, I’ll let the movers know.

Marj commented on Jun 17 09 at 7:46 pmOh, they said pudding like texture, but said Jello. Usually Jello is synonymous with gelatin. I thought they were mixing Jello/gelatin with other stuff to get a creamy texture like they do in many yogurts. I have to read those yogurt packages pretty carefully, because few do not use gelatin. A few use kosher gelatin, which is made with fish instead of beef.
